Three steps, about a minute

No editor to learn. You record, it writes, you paste.

  1. 1

    Start recording

Press ⌘⇧R or choose Start Recording in the menu bar. A small timer shows that you are recording.

  2. 2

    Show it and talk

Click through the problem and say what you want in your own words. Stop when you are done.

  3. 3

    Copy the text

ScreenWhisper sends the recording to Gemini Flash Latest and shows the text. Edit it if you like, then copy and paste it.

It uses what was on screen, not only what you said

A dictation app only hears you. ScreenWhisper also reads the screen, so field names, values and messages come out exactly as they appear, even when you only point at them.

Where can I find my invoices?#4821

Maria Keller10:24 AM

Hi, our accountant needs last month’s invoice. Where can I download it?

Reply to Maria Keller

Hi Maria,

You can find all invoices under Billing. Click Download PDF next to the month you need. If invoices should go to another address, change it under Billing email.

Best, Alex

What are you working on?

In dashboard.tsx, line 13 crashes with “TypeError: data is undefined” while the data is still loading.

Fix it so Table only renders when data is ready, and show a loading state until then.

Keep the existing columns. Explain the change in two sentences.

Not quite right? Say what to change

Type a short instruction and run it again on the same recording. ScreenWhisper keeps each version, so you can go back to an earlier one.

1Type what to change under the text and press Run again.

2The new version opens. Use the arrows to go back to an earlier one.

Only need words? Dictate them

Press the shortcut, talk, and press it again. The text goes where your cursor is. Add names and terms you use often, so they are spelled right.

⌘⇧Dstarts and stops dictation

Want it different? Open the dictation in ScreenWhisper, type an instruction such as “make it formal”, and it rewrites the text.

Your recordings stay on your Mac

Recordings, results and dictation history are saved on your Mac. A recording leaves your Mac only when you process it.

The recording you processThe text

  1. Your Mac

    Stays here

    • Your recordings
    • The texts and their versions
    • Your dictation history
  2. ScreenWhisper server

    What it does

    • Passes the recording on to Gemini

    Deleted after each run

    • Its temporary copy of the video
  3. Gemini Flash Latest

    What it does

    • Reads the screen and listens to your voice

Check what is on screen before you process a recording: everything in it is sent.

Questions

What is ScreenWhisper?

A Mac app that records your screen and your voice at the same time. It sends the recording to Gemini Flash Latest, which reads the screen and listens to what you said, and writes the text you asked for: a bug report, a reply, a prompt, a summary or step-by-step instructions.

What do I get after a recording?

The text you asked for, next to the recording in your library. You can edit it, copy it, or give an instruction and run it again. Every version is kept.

Does it work offline?

Recording and your library work offline. Processing a recording or a dictation needs an internet connection.

Is my data private?

Your recordings and texts are stored on your Mac. When you process a recording, it goes through the ScreenWhisper server to Google’s Gemini service, which returns the text. After processing, the server deletes the uploaded video at Google and its own temporary copy. Check what is on screen before you process a recording.

What AI model does it use?

ScreenWhisper uses Gemini Flash Latest to analyze your screen recording and spoken instructions.

Which Macs does it run on?

Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 11 or later. To record, allow screen recording and the microphone. To paste dictation for you, also allow Accessibility.

Can it paste the text for me?

Dictation is pasted at your cursor when you allow Accessibility. Text from a screen recording is copied with one click, so you can paste it where you need it.

How does pricing work?

AI processing uses prepaid credits. You can see your balance and usage, and buy credits, under Account in the app.

Try it on your next bug report
